Looking for a quick, easy, and delicious dish for summer evenings with friends? Then this recipe is perfect for you!
Shakshuka is rich in protein, iron , zinc , and magnesium . This recipe even includes chickpeas, which offer several benefits. They promote digestion and prevent the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Cumin seeds, for their part, are your best friend against bloating and the discomfort that comes with it. Not to mention their benefits for the immune system.
Ingredients:
- 3 to 4 eggs
- 1 can of chickpeas (optional)
- 1 red bell pepper
- ½ block feta
- flat-leaf parsley
- Cumin for extra flavour
- 1 jar Think Tomato (or more, depending on how much sauce you want)
- 1/2 red onion and 2 cloves of garlic
Preparation method:
- Finely chop the onion. Crush the garlic and chop the chili pepper. Remove the seeds from the bell peppers and dice them. Sauté the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and chili pepper in olive oil until translucent.
- Add the Think Tomato tomato sauce to the pan and season with salt, pepper, and cumin. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.
- Make a few wells in the sauce and add the eggs.
- Wait until the egg white is cooked and then remove the pan from the heat.
- Garnish the dish with feta and/or parsley for extra flavor. Serve the shakshuka with some bread for the perfect combination.
Tip:
Cumin seeds are naturally rich in iron , magnesium and zinc.
Add chickpeas for extra protein and help keep you feeling full.
