Many women discover supplements when they're trying to conceive. Folic acid, as well as many other vitamins and minerals, are recommended for women who are trying to conceive, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Sophie discovered our supplements when she was trying to conceive.
I met Guud before I was pregnant. I was able to use the supplements before, during, and after. And now that I'm breastfeeding, I'll continue taking them.
100% high-quality supplements
When developing our products, we've done extensive research to find the right ingredients. Many supplements aren't absorbed well by the body, or are full of unnecessary fillers and dyes.
All our supplements are made in Belgium, 100% plant-based, sustainable, and free of gluten, wheat, and lactose. Sophie knew she could use the supplements safely: "I have complete confidence that the supplements are of good quality."
Discover your cycle with Guud
When women want to get pregnant, they monitor their cycle. When is my period? When do I ovulate? Am I even fertile?
Find out how to calculate your menstrual cycle in this article.
Sophie now knows her body and cycle pretty well. "For me, a healthy cycle means being fertile and experiencing ovulation monthly. It's also important to get to know your body well, to experience and feel the different phases, and to have a good connection with your body."

FAQ: I want to get pregnant, what does my body need?
To get pregnant, you first need to ovulate . Regular ovulation occurs during a healthy cycle. A healthy cycle is promoted through a healthy lifestyle, diet, and exercise.
To further prepare your body for pregnancy and ensure it's the perfect foundation for a pregnancy, it's recommended to actively take folic acid. Folic acid supplementation increases the mother's folate status. A low maternal folate status is a risk factor for neural tube defects in the developing fetus.
FAQ: What does my body need during pregnancy? 🤰
As soon as you're pregnant, your body starts working hard to transform a few cells into a fully formed baby. This takes a lot of energy. Take good care of yourself and your baby and continue taking folic acid regularly during the first few weeks .
FAQ: I want to breastfeed, what should I keep in mind?
Did you know that you need an average of 500 extra calories a day when breastfeeding? While a woman's body can easily handle breastfeeding, paying extra attention to your diet can't hurt. Make sure you're getting enough of everything. Read more about it in our blog post " What to do while breastfeeding "
FAQ: Can I take supplements?
Yes, but not all supplements are suitable during pregnancy. Because your baby is directly connected to your body during pregnancy, and therefore ingests almost everything, there are things to keep in mind when taking supplements. This also applies during breastfeeding. You can always discuss your needs with your doctor or midwife.
FAQ: Can I use vitamin A?
Yes, vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene) is an important vitamin:
- Vitamin A plays a role in the cell specialization process
- Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal vision
- Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin
- Vitamin A contributes to normal iron metabolism
- Vitamin A contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system
- Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes
However, too much vitamin A during pregnancy is indeed not good. Women taking Roaccutane (a high-dose vitamin A medication) to treat acne should not become pregnant because too much vitamin A in high doses can be harmful to your unborn baby.
Therefore, make sure you don't consume more than 3000 µg (but you won't get that easily. For comparison, Guud Flow contains 800 µg) and choose vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene.
