Perimenopause is the natural stage of life you enter around age 40. It's the eve of menopause, and this transition can be quite stressful, with hot flashes, mood swings, and irregular periods.
It's all part of life, but you don't have to suffer because most symptoms can be alleviated with some simple lifestyle changes. Several studies show that certain vitamins and minerals can help manage perimenopause symptoms. This article tells you all about it.
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity. For women aged 19 to 50, the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamin B6 is 1.3 milligrams per day. Women aged 50 and older are advised to consume slightly more, namely 1.5 milligrams.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, the normal functioning of the immune system, and helps reduce the risk of falls associated with postural instability and muscle weakness. Falls are a risk factor for bone fractures in men and women aged 60 and over.
Omega 3
At Guud Woman, we often talk about omega-3 fatty acids, and for good reason. Our bodies don't produce them, so we have to get them from our diet. DHA in omega-3s contributes to the maintenance of normal brain and heart function.
Zinc
Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood.
Magnesium
Magnesium contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal psychological function.
Vitex agnus-castus (monk's pepper)
Some studies show improvements in various female complaints. However, there is no approved health claim for vitex agnus-castus . However, there are a few herbal claims that are on hold: it contributes to menopause and maintaining comfort before and during menstruation. If you'd like to learn more about vitex, read this study .
