A vitamin A deficiency can cause skin problems, dull hair, and (night) blindness.

These symptoms may be attributed to other deficiencies or problems, so always consult a doctor if you experience them persistently or are concerned.

Which foods contain vitamin A?

There are several ways to get vitamin A. Animal products contain vitamin A in the form of retinol or retinyl esters. Fruits and vegetables contain carotenoids. These are also called provitamin A because the body can convert them into vitamin A. They come in different forms: alpha- and beta-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin.

Vitamin A is primarily found in animal products, such as meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, fish, and egg yolks. Liver is particularly rich in vitamin A. It's also added to margarine, low-fat margarine, and baked goods. Vitamin A in the form of carotenoids is abundant in various vegetables, such as carrots, kale, spinach, and endive.

Whether and for how long you can take vitamin A depends on your individual needs and personal situation. Limit your vitamin A intake during pregnancy. Ensure you get enough vitamin A through your diet and supplement your diet with a supplement if necessary. Consult a doctor if you suspect a vitamin A deficiency and want personalized advice.

Vitamin A during pregnancy

While too much vitamin A during pregnancy isn't good for you, it is important for your baby's development. You're considered overdose if you take more than 3000 mcg. Guud Flow contains 800 mcg. Therefore, you can safely continue taking Guud Flow during pregnancy.
